Kyiv-Washington: Anti-Corruption Bridge

Today, on August 5, Kyiv became a platform for negotiations between representatives of the International Anti-Corruption Assembly and delegates of the Ukraine Reconstruction Summit. The key issue on the agenda was the future participation of the Assembly in the Summit, scheduled for September 13-14 in Washington, DC, USA.

The discussion was attended by:

  • Vyacheslav Sayenko, Secretary General of the Central Committee of the International Anti-Corruption Assembly,
  • Viktor Badia, Head of the Representative Office of the International Anti-Corruption Assembly in Ukraine
  • Khrystyna Sayenko, who provided translation,
  • George Mull – Ukraine Reconstruction Summit General Counsel,
  • Aisha Malik – Ukraine Reconstruction Summit Chief of Staff.

The meeting focused on potential areas for joint work, paying special attention to one of the key aspects of the Summit, namely the development and implementation of innovative mechanisms for combating corruption at the local level. They also discussed the possibility of strengthening cooperation in the field of anti-corruption activities. The participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of international cooperation in the fight against corruption and expressed confidence in fruitful cooperation and interaction within the framework of the upcoming summit in Washington.
