11 Years of IACA: A Second Decade – A New Stage, New Opportunities, New Partners

Eleven years marks the beginning of IACA’s second decade.

And for us, this is not simply a continuation of the previous stage. It is a new stage of development.

The First Decade: Building with Our Own Efforts

During its first ten years, the International Anti-Corruption Assembly essentially built itself independently. We developed our organizational model, shaped our own approaches to anti-corruption work, developed projects, carried out educational and civic activities, expanded international relations, and supported people and communities. This journey required a great deal of personal effort and resources from the people who believed in the idea of the Assembly. Independence always comes at a cost. For IACA, for many years, that cost was the time, energy, professional experience, and resources of our members, representatives, and friends. This is what allowed us to go through the first stage without dependence on external interests and to build our own foundation.
Over ten years, individual initiatives gradually became a system. Areas of anti-corruption education, legal monitoring, support for civil society, international cooperation, humanitarian activities, and our own anti-corruption projects took shape.

The Second Decade: Not Starting from Zero, but Opening What We Have Built to Partnership

Today, IACA no longer needs to prove to itself that it is capable of creating and implementing its own ideas. We have experience. We have a team. We have representative offices. We have established methodologies and projects. We have international contacts. We have practical experience built over many years.
That is why, with the beginning of our second decade, our approach is changing as well.

We are opening IACA to broader partnership.

We invite organizations, professionals, civic associations, educational institutions, international bodies, and individuals who share the principles of integrity, responsibility, and a commitment to practical change to work with us.
For us, partnership is not simply an opportunity to receive support. It is an opportunity to bring together experience, knowledge, professional capabilities, and resources to achieve what would be significantly more difficult to accomplish separately.
That is why we see IACA’s second decade as a period of opening the organization to new partners.

Year 11: The First Results of a New Stage

The first year of the second decade has already shown that this change in approach has not remained merely a strategic statement.
Throughout 2026, IACA expanded its institutional presence in the international environment. The organization obtained or confirmed a number of international registrations and access credentials, including NCAGE, the EU Transparency Register, the EU Funding & Tenders Portal, UNGM, and active status in SAM.gov, and joined the UNCAC Coalition on 30 June 2026.
For us, these are not simply a collection of statuses. They are the creation of infrastructure that enables IACA to be more open to international cooperation, professional contacts, and joint projects.
At the same time, work continues on new international opportunities. In particular, IACA’s application for special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, submitted in May 2026, is currently under consideration.
But the most important developments are not taking place in registers. The most important thing is the development of IACA itself.

From an Idea to a Model That Can Be Shared with Others

One of the key directions of this new stage has been the further systematization of our own experience.
In particular, we are developing the “Territory Without Corruption” doctrine, based on a simple principle: change begins not only with demands directed at the state or at other people, but with personal responsibility, personal conduct, and a willingness to act.
We want the experience developed in Ukraine not to remain the internal experience of a single organization. It can be adapted, developed, and applied together with partners in other communities and countries. This is where a fundamentally new perspective opens up for IACA: not simply to implement our own projects, but to create models that others can join.
The individual remains at the center. At the same time, a change in scale does not mean a change in our foundations.
Over eleven years, IACA has worked in a wide range of areas, from anti-corruption education and legal monitoring to support for whistleblowers, communities, humanitarian initiatives, and assistance to children. In 2026, the Children’s Help Centers continued their work, including in Kurchuhan, Shcherbanka, and Turiisk. Behind every such initiative, there remains for us a specific person, a specific family, and a specific need.
Therefore, IACA’s international development does not mean moving away from people. On the contrary, it should create more opportunities for experience, knowledge, and partnerships to be transformed into practical assistance and real change.

The Second Decade Is About Partnership

During the first ten years, we created many things independently. Now we want to create more together.
We are not giving up our independence. On the contrary, partnership is possible for us precisely because it is built on an established organization, our own principles, experience, and responsibility. We are not looking for partners simply for the sake of formal presence. We are looking for people and organizations with whom we can get things done.
Together, we can develop anti-corruption education. Together, we can create new tools. Together, we can support communities. Together, we can develop international projects. Together, we can share experience where it can be useful.

11 Years Is Only the Beginning of the Second Stage

Today, we are not drawing a final line under our achievements. On the contrary, we are opening a new page.
During its first decade, IACA travelled a path from an idea to an organization with its own structure, experience, projects, and international opportunities.
The first year of the second decade has shown that the next stage has already begun. Ahead lie new partnerships, new projects, new countries, new professionals, and new opportunities. But the principle remains unchanged: integrity guides our decisions, responsibility shapes our actions, and partnership helps turn experience into greater opportunities.

Thank you to everyone who has been with IACA throughout these eleven years. To our members and representatives. To our teams and volunteers. To our partners in Ukraine and abroad. To everyone who supported our projects, helped people, shared knowledge, and gave their time.

But the second decade is only beginning. And our work continues.
